About our Committee
James McKay - Chair.
Describing himself as "countrypolitan", James works as a lawyer by day but prefers to be described as a vegetable gardener and keen Collector enthusiast. Along with his wife Kate, James bought back the idea of a village festival from his travels in Italy, and is committed to seeing it established as a cornerstone of Collector Village pride.
Sarah Kruger - Vice Chair
Sarah's management skills have ensured that the excess imagination of other Committee members is kept to achievable limits. Forward thinking, with an eye on the future, she also remains determined to continue to stamp her authority all over the Festival's pumpkin scone and pie competitions.
Gary Daw - Treasurer
Gary's phlegmatic appearance presents the perfect image to creditors and debtors alike, and he boosts the financial credibility of the Festival no end. Yet for the Committee he is the 'can do' man - if the Committee comes up with a hare-brained idea - Gary will lead the charge in finding a way to fund it. In his spare time he works with wife Juli in carving out an attitude to living in style in Collector - oh - and if you want a piece of it - check out their bed and breakfast - Muriel's Cottage - the perfect country getaway.
Kim Christopher - Secretary
Tucked away a few kilometres up the dirt road from Collector is the powerful administrative whirlwind that is Kim Christopher. Head hunted for the role after displaying an impressive track record of campaigning for funding to improve roads in the district, Kim ensures the Committee remains on track.
Romilly Madew - Marketing Manager
Mover and shaker in the Canberra scene, Romilly throws a prodigious amount of energy and expertise into marketing the Festival. Amazingly, she has managed to find the time in her impossibly busy schedule to exploit her contacts and knowledge for the benefit of the Festival. Despite her city and family commitments, and promotion of the family's Madew winery, she assures us all the Pumpkin Festival is what keeps her grounded most of all.
Robbie Howard - Ball Management
Without doubt, Robbie Howard has been critical to ensuring the Festival Ball has the 'wow' factor that has seen it become the premier event on the Southern Tablelands Social Calendar. Her eye for detail and impeccable taste, along with a prodigious capacity for creating an unforgettable atmosphere, Robbie turns the Pumpkin Ball in to a work of art. When not pulling the Pumpkin Festival together, Robbie also finds time to run the acclaimed Lynwood Cafe in Collector, as well as producing the much sought after Lynwood preserves.

Zoltan Hegyi - Logistics
Much loved by the local community, the President of the Collector Community Pot Black Club is perhaps fiercer than anyone in his proclamation of love and affection for Collector Village. Zol is widely recognised as one of Collector's sharpest shooters on the green felt of the Bushranger Hotel's pool table, as well as captaining the village cricket team, and when he turns his natural talent to Festival logistics, things get done, and get done extremely well.
Jono Hoskins - Sponsorship
This quiet and unassuming grazier packs a punch in shaking money out of drought-ridden trees. Jono has worked hard to establish strong and lasting relationships with the Pumpkin Festival's loyal sponsors, which has been critical to the establishment of a strong foundation for the Festival to grow and build.
Alan Howard - Festival Day Manager
With the 2006 event ramping up in scope, Big Al (that is in stature, not size!) has the project management expertise to pull off a wildly successful event. Now that his beloved chickens have fallen victim to a nasty fox, Al is dedicated to ensuring this year's Festival is run better in every way in 2006.
Kate McKay - Stallholder Manager
Kate is critical to ensuring the Festival retains a high standard of quality stallholders. Her creative eye and thoughtful demeanour, along with a deep and genuine love for the region has led stallholders to clamour for her approval for inclusion. When not pulling the Pumpkin Festival together, Kate is determined to grow a healthy basil plant in Collector. Pumpkins, she says, are much easier to grow.
John Reardon - Site Coordinator
Deeply committed to the Collector community, and from a family whose roots stretch back to its origins, John knows every blade of grass and every pebble in the village. When pulling together the infrastructure and resources to make the event hum on the day, such local knowledge is irreplaceable. John's credibility in the region is unquestioned and his generosity to the community over the years is without parallel.
You can send an email to any one of the above at members to just put their name in the subject line and we'll pass them on.
