2018 Competition Entry Conditions and Information

2018 Competition Entry Conditions and prize amounts – updated 25 April 2018

Giant Pumpkin Competition

Entries must be delivered to the Collector Memorial Hall on Saturday 5 May 2018 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.

An entry fee of $5 must accompany each entry in these events and is payable before the official “weigh-in”.

Joe Medway Memorial Heaviest Pumpkin Open event – PRIZES 1st $500, 2nd $300,  3rd $200
Junior event – PRIZES for 1st $70,  2nd $50, 3rd $30

A $25 bounty is on offer for all pumpkins over 100kg entered into the festival.

 

Other Pumpkin Competition

PRIZES for these events:  1st $70,  2nd $50, 3rd $30

Heaviest Grey Pumpkin – Open – NEW

Lightest weight Pumpkin – Open – NEW

 

Scarecrow Competition

Best Scarecrow

Enter at the Scarecrow building area.  Clothes and ‘Pumpkin Heads’ are provided but feel free to bring your own gear.

PRIZES for these events:  1st $70,  2nd $50, 3rd $30

Limited places available, enter early.
Judging takes place at 1:15 pm on 6 May 2018.

 

Pumpkin Cooking Competitions

General Rules for Cooking Competitions

Home baked Pumpkin Treats to be entered at Collector Memorial Hall
before 9:30am – Sunday 6 May 2018.

Judging will commence at 9:30am sharp so don’t come late!

Entry Forms are to be completed at the Registration Desk in the Collector Memorial Hall. Complete when delivering baked goods. An entry fee of $2 per entry must accompany each entry and is payable on registration of baked goods. Stewards will provide an Entry Ticket to accompany your competition entry.

Please print your name and a contact number on the base of your plate/dish if you would like it returned.

You are encouraged to collect your entry after 4:00pm ON FESTIVAL DAY.

Pumpkin Scones

  Open Pumpkin Scones

  Junior Pumpkin Scones

Your entry will have five (5) scones on a plate. Pumpkin scones are to be left whole (NOT cut).Please do not have butter or jam on them.
Pumpkin Pie Only one (1) pie with a minimum diameter of 20cm per entry is required and your pie maybe sweet or savoury. Please leave your pie uncut and not decorated with cream.
Pumpkin Cake

 

Entry must be on a plate that will fit in a 30cm x 30cm space maximum. You MAY sprinkle your entry with icing sugar. Cakes MUST NOT BE ICED. Entry may be in any shape e.g. – loaf, round, roll, ring or square or patty cakes/muffin (min 5 on a plate).
Pumpkin Quiche Only one (1) quiche with a minimum diameter of 20cm per entry is required. Please leave your quiche uncut.

 

Pumpkin Craft Competitions

General Rules for Pumpkin Craft Competitions

Entries for these categories may be entered on Saturday 5 May 2018 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Late entries will be accepted on Sunday 6 May 2018 but must be in before 9:30 am.

Judging will commence at 9:30am sharp, 6 May 2018 so don’t come late!

An entry fee of $2 per entry must accompany each entry and is payable on registration of pumpkin craft. Stewards will provide an Entry Ticket to accompany your competition entry.

If you have a special container/stand please print your name and a contact number on the base if you want it returned.

You may be as imaginative and creative as you like.

Any ornaments, manufactured or otherwise may be used to decorate/enhance your exhibit as long as they are secured in place.

You are encouraged to collect your entry after 4:00pm 6 May 2018.
